Role Overview
The Business Analyst Support professional will be responsible for developing and maintaining SQL queries, managing ETL jobs, automating manual processes using Python, and building data pipelines, reports, and dashboards.
The role requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to understand business requirements, investigate reporting or business intelligence (BI) issues, and develop data-driven solutions. The candidate will also support stakeholders during high-demand planning periods, including OP and 3YF planning.
The role is part of Amazon’s Rest of World (RoW) Supply Chain Analytics, Research and Product (SHARP) team, which supports supply chain operations across India, Japan, Mexico, Brazil, the Middle East and North Africa (MENA), Australia, and Singapore.

Roles and Responsibilities
1. SQL Development and Data Management
- Create, maintain, and optimize complex SQL queries to support business reporting and analytics.
- Use table joins and aggregate analytical functions to retrieve and analyze data.
- Validate data accuracy and consistency for new and existing data resources.
- Investigate data discrepancies and resolve reporting-related issues.
- Maintain existing analytical queries and frameworks as business requirements evolve.
2. Data Pipelines and ETL Operations
- Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines that support ongoing business reporting.
- Schedule, refresh, and monitor ETL jobs to ensure data is available when required.
- Support data extraction and processing using SQL and related tools.
- Identify opportunities to improve pipeline reliability, efficiency, and data quality.
- Learn and apply relevant AWS and modern data technologies as needed.
3. Python Automation and Process Improvement
- Automate repetitive manual tasks using Python and scripting techniques.
- Simplify existing workflows to improve operational efficiency.
- Identify process bottlenecks and develop practical automation solutions.
- Enhance existing analytical frameworks to reduce manual effort and improve accuracy.
- Propose innovative ideas to improve current processes or introduce new analytical solutions.
4. Reporting, Dashboards, and Business Intelligence
- Develop and maintain business metrics, reports, dashboards, and analytical outputs.
- Build data-driven solutions that help stakeholders make informed business decisions.
- Perform deep-dive analyses to investigate specific business questions and performance issues.
- Troubleshoot reporting and BI issues by identifying their underlying causes.
- Ensure analytical outputs are accurate, consistent, and aligned with business requirements.
5. Stakeholder Management and Business Support
- Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to understand reporting and automation requirements.
- Translate business problems into data-driven analytical solutions.
- Provide timely data and reporting support during critical business planning periods, including OP and 3YF planning.
- Communicate findings and recommend appropriate solutions to stakeholders.
- Collaborate with the wider SHARP team to support supply chain operations across multiple regions.

- Identify opportunities to introduce new reports, metrics, pipelines, and automation solutions.
