Qualifications
for Analyst-Risk Management –
Academic Background:
- Bachelor’s in Statistics/Mathematics/Economics/ Engineering with relevant experience
- Preferred: Post Graduation in Management /Statistics/Mathematics/ Economics/Engineering
Technical Skills/Capabilities:
- Python, SQL, Hive, PySpark
- Advanced Statistical Techniques
- Advanced Excel
- Enterprise Leadership Behaviors
- Proficiency in Excel, VBA, SQL/Python and Tableau/Power BI
- Strong experience in creating decks and presenting findings effectively
- Excellent communication skills in English (written & verbal both)
- Payments or financial services industry experience is highly desirable
Past Experience:
- 1–3 years of relevant experience in data analytics, reporting, or data governance–related roles.
- Preferred: Experience supporting data governance, reporting, or analytics initiatives within risk domains such as credit and fraud risk, Financial crimes risk and GRC.
Key Responsibilities:
- Establish and strengthen data governance frameworks by designing analytical controls to identify, monitor, and mitigate Financial Crimes risk.
- Integrate and govern internal and external data sources to create reliable insights and monitoring controls for Financial Crimes prevention.
- Contribute to analytical projects focused on risk reduction, data governance, and the delivery of accurate, timely, and robust reporting.
- Assist in maintaining data quality, consistency, and documentation to support governed data usage.
- Partner with global stakeholders across multiple business units to drive alignment on data definitions, controls, ownership, and reporting practices.
- Design, build, and maintain dashboards and visual reports to monitor Financial Crimes risk, key metrics, and control effectiveness.
Skills Required

Minimum Qualifications
- MBA, master’s degree in economics, Statistics, Computer Science Or related fields
- 0-30 months of experience in analytics, big data workstreams.
- Ability to drive project deliverables to achieve business results
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Innovative problem solver with ability to learn quickly and work independently with complex, unstructured initiatives

- Development, deployment and validation of predictive model(s) and supporting use of models in economic logic to enable profitable decisions across risk, fraud and marketing.
Responsibilities:
- Understand the core business of AXP and the levers behind various decisions
- Analyse large amounts of data to derive business insights and create innovative solutions
- Leverage the power of closed loop through Amex network to make decisions more intelligent and relevant
- Innovate with a focus on developing newer and better approaches using big data & machine learning solution
- Clear articulation and structuring of business findings across prospect and customer domain to the leadership and key partners
- Maintain external lens and be aware of developments in the field of Finance/Payments/Analytics etc.
