Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field; or equivalent related professional experience.
- Up to 2 years of relevant professional experience developing and shipping mobile applications or mobile features, including internships, projects, or prior roles.
- Hands-on proficiency in at least one modern mobile development platform and programming language (for example, native or cross-platform), with foundational experience in system design (LLD), API design and integration, and data modeling for mobile client–server architectures.
- Demonstrated experience owning mobile features through development, testing, release, and operational support under guidance, including monitoring, troubleshooting, resolving production issues, and applying secure coding and data handling practices on mobile.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience contributing to the design and implementation of scalable, high-performing, and user-centric mobile features, including well-structured APIs, data models, and UI patterns that can be reused across multiple mobile surfaces or teams.
- Evidence of improving mobile application availability, performance, or reliability using metrics, observability tooling, automation, and strong operational practices such as alerting, logging, and runbooks for mobile services.
- Background integrating or leveraging AI/ML‑enabled components or platforms within mobile applications (for example, personalization, recommendations, or intelligent assistance), and safely operating AI-driven mobile features to enhance customer and business outcomes.
- Experience working across multiple areas of the mobile stack or adjacent domains (for example, mobile UI, networking, offline storage, build and release pipelines, or back-end integration), adapting quickly to new frameworks, platform capabilities, and AI-driven tooling, and using data to inform design and implementation choices.
In this role, you will:
- Design, develop, test, and maintain performant, resilient, and secure mobile application features and components that support Expedia Group products and platforms.
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other engineers to translate business and customer requirements into robust mobile solutions, including system design (LLD), API integration design, and data modeling for client–server interactions.
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented mobile code, along with unit tests and basic tooling, to improve the reliability, observability, and operational excellence of mobile applications.
Skills Required
- Participate in code reviews, design reviews, and technical discussions within your team, identifying opportunities to simplify mobile architectures, reduce technical debt, and improve performance and quality.
- Own the full lifecycle of the mobile features you build, including integration with back-end services, deployment processes, monitoring, troubleshooting, incident response, and incremental improvement, and safely integrate and operate AI/ML‑enabled solutions that improve outcomes.
- Work across different parts of the mobile stack or adjacent technical domains as needed, building familiarity with AI-driven systems, tools, or workflows and applying AI/ML concepts to real world products, while developing skills that can be applied across multiple teams or domains.
