Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
- OR equivalent experience.
- 2+ years of professional industry experience working on large projects.
- 2+ years’ experience with app development.
- Excellent design, coding, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Microservices and Azure or equivalent cloud infrastructure.
- Experience with python, PowerShell or relevant scripting languages.
- Experience in Cloud deployment, Deployment automation, CI/CD.
- Experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and other web technologies.
- Experience architecting and integrating AI/ML tech stacks, experience with production-grade LLM workflows and ability to drive efficiency through advanced prompt engineering.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities
As a Software Engineer in the Edge Engineering Systems team, you will be part of a team passionate about enhancing developer productivity by building and supporting high-performance, large-scale Azure-based cloud services integrated into Windows, Mac, and Linux development environments.
- Work on Azure-based microservices (Functions, Kubernetes Service, Service Fabric etc.) to support large-scale distributed workflows for Edge development.
- Design, implement, and maintain developer productivity tools, build systems, and automation pipelines that scale across multiple platforms (Windows, Mac, Linux, mobile).
- Drive initiatives independently and iterate quickly to deliver impactful solutions in a fast-paced environment.
- Enforce rigorous quality engineering practices throughout all stages of product development and deployment.
- Enthusiastically support the services that the team operates
- Stay updated on new technologies, tools, methods, and industry best practices, including those from Microsoft.
Skills Required
You’ll work within the Edge client codebase (derived from the Chromium Project), with Azure DevOps, and multiple Azure technologies such as Cosmos DB, Service Fabric, App Service, Kubernetes Service, and many others. You’ll get to collaborate with a diverse community of engineers. Our team uses a variety of Microsoft and open-source technologies to support Edge on all platforms where our customers are.
This position will be open for a minimum of 5 days, with applications accepted on an ongoing basis until the position is filled.
