Qualifications

• Pursuing a B.S. or M.S. Degree in Computer Science/Computer Engineering
• Proficient in Python and SQL. Familiarity with PySpark and Spark SQL a plus
• Experience with large data sets and distributed computing (Spark/Hive/Hadoop) a plus
• Experience with JavaScript/HTML/CSS a plus
• Experience working in a cloud environment such as AWS or Azure a plus
• Approaches problems with curiosity and open-mindedness, is a fast learner
• Ability and enthusiasm to work in a global and multicultural environment
• Strong analytical skills and can focus on details without losing track of the big picture
• Excellent oral and written English skills

Job Description & Responsibilities:-

• As a Data Engineering Intern, you will join a team of Architects & Engineers to work on a global strategic initiative to make better use of our Reinsurance data and enhance our ability to make data driven decisions.
• You will help the team design, develop and execute complex analytic solutions that will transform the insurance industry.
• You will gain exposure to a project that is leveraging cutting edge technology that applies Big Data and Machine Learning to solve new and emerging problems for Swiss Re Reinsurance business.
