Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in related field.
• 2-4 years of experience in data analysis and working with robust data sets.
• Proven ability to perform data analysis requests involving consumption, manipulation, and reporting on large volumes of data.
• Developing and maintaining databases, data systems, reorganizing data in a readable format and assessing quality and meaning of data.
• Experience in data elements commonly used in cybersecurity operations, information technology, vulnerability management, and a variety of infrastructure systems.
• Excellent analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.
• Working knowledge of one or more of the data mining/big data analytical tools (e.g. Microsoft Excel: Pivot Tables, SQL, SAS, Python, Power BI, Qlik etc.)
• Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Required self-starter who can work with minimal supervision.
• Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
• Willingness to challenge traditional thinking by actively engaging in constructive dialogue.

Preferred:

• Educational background: Computer Science or Information Systems.
• Experience in automation of data analytics activities.
• Industry certifications (e.g. ITIL, Microsoft Power BI Data Analyst, AWS Certified Data Analytics, SAS, CompTIA Data Analytics, etc.).
• Ability to break-down a complex problem into components, solve them using data analysis, process knowledge and risk/control knowledge, and communicate data analysis, issues and control recommendations with transparency and integrity
• Experience with systems and data conditions within GRC application data sets and processes to determine risk trends and patterns and publish these to management
• Experience designing and implementing the infrastructure of an entire data analytics pipeline from ingestion to reporting.

Essential Job Functions:-

• Lead and advance data governance principles, policies, and programs for stewardship, advocacy and custodianship of data
• Support data-driven reviews focused on technology processes, cyber security controls and business continuity management risks.
• Conduct exploratory data analysis on large sets of structure data using SQL, Python, and Excel to develop meaningful insights on cybersecurity and technology related data.
• Support development and enhancement of data-driven metrics and indicators that provide real time insights into the risk and performance trends.
• Learn technology, cyber security, and business continuity management processes at American Express, demonstrating strong levels of curiosity and willingness, in order to present an effective credible challenge.
• Support the design of a technology risk oversight data analytics program using data sourced from various systems, teams, and tools and perform effective analysis and aggregation in terms of risk.
