Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 2 years of experience in data analysis, including identifying trends, generating summary statistics, and drawing insights from quantitative and qualitative data.
• 2 years of experience managing projects and defining project scope, goals, and deliverables.

Preferred qualifications:

• Master’s degree in a quantitative discipline.
• 2 years of experience working on signal development, data analysis, cyber security, or anti-abuse.
• Experience in SQL, building dashboards, data collection/transformation, visualization/dashboards.
• Experience in querying and analyzing datasets, including time-series data, and performing statistical analysis.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Roles and Responsibilities

As an Engineering Analyst, you will leverage knowledge in abuse prevention, identify and mitigate emerging threats, assess the effectiveness of existing protections, and deliver technical and operational solutions to enhance user safety and strengthen the platform’s resilience against abuse.

• Work within Google Photos and Google One to set processes and priorities alongside cross-functional teams with the goal of setting and reaching trust, safety, and sustainability goals.

• Identify operational and tooling improvements to counter-abuse processes to improve quality, precision, recall, and turn-around time.
• Work with engineering to develop advanced solutions and machine learning algorithms to improve protection coverage and be resilient to changes in trends.
• Define, implement, and monitor key abuse metrics and initiate and lead mitigation efforts to address any concerning trends.
