Qualifications
Basic Required Qualifications:
- 1-3 years experience as a power / data analyst
- An advanced degree in mathematics, engineering or quantitative economics.
- Understanding of power / energy modeling tools (dispatch models and production / cost models in particular etc.)
- Ability to manipulate large, complex datasets and transform model results into clear, meaningful insight
- Knowledge of SQL, Python
Additional Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in the European, US or Indian power market either in the industry or in an advisory capacity
- Knowledge of several European languages
Responsibilities and Impact:
By contributing to our power market analysis, the role will help drive research about the evolution of the power sector in Europe to a wide client base from across the energy value chain, helping them make informed decisions.
Responsibilities Include:
- Contribute to S&P Global Commodity Insight’s European power analysis by helping deliver market leading quantitative and qualitative analysis including insights into and projections of power prices, power demand, and power supply
- Support the development of our datasets and information collection; the elaboration of inputs for our models and the preparation of the associated datasets; and the extraction and analysis of model results; presentation of the results to internal and external clients.
- Contribute to the accurate and timely delivery of a range of reports and presentations that underpin our retainer products.
- Support ad-hoc requests from clients and management.
