Job Role 1: Software Engineer

The skills you’ll need:

You’ll need a background in software engineering, software design, architecture, and an understanding of how your area of expertise supports our customers.

You’ll also need:

  • Experience of working with Tableau desktop and Tableau server with strong understanding of Tableau’s architecture, performance tuning and best practices for dashboard development
  • Experience of SQL and with relational databases.
  • A background in solving highly complex, analytical and numerical problems
  • Experience of implementing programming best practice, especially around scalability, automation, virtualisation, optimisation, availability and performance

Job Role 2: Infrastructure Analyst

The skills you’ll need:

To succeed in this role, you’ll need to be a very capable communicator with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to colleagues including management level. You’ll need a solid background working in an Agile or DevOps environment with continuous delivery and continuous integration. The key responsibility of the team is to troubleshoot Azure services, Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) and basic management. You’ll have at least five years of experience in managing Windows 10/11 features, configuration, settings and troubleshooting.

We’ll also look to you to demonstrate:

  • Should have understanding of networking concepts & connectivity troubleshooting  
  • Knowledge on Active Directory, user management, permissions and group policies
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, O365, web browsers and troubleshooting application issues
  • Must have understanding of Ticketing systems (ServiceNow, JIRA) for tracking support requests
  • Should have knowledge of storage, compute services, identity and access management, monitoring, automation, backup, disaster recovery and security best practices

As an Infrastructure Analyst, you’ll be providing input to and supporting the team’s activities to make sure that the platform integrity is maintained in line with technical roadmaps, while supporting change demands from domains or centres of excellence. You’ll be supporting the delivery of a robust production management service for relevant infrastructure platforms.

In addition, you’ll be contributing to the delivery of customer outcomes, innovation and early learning by contributing to test products and services to identify early on if they are viable and deliver the desired outcomes.

Your role will involve:

  • Contributing to the platform risk culture, making sure that risks are discussed and understood at every step, and effectively collaborating to mitigate risk
  • Contributing to the planning and execution of work within the platform and the timely servicing of feature development requests from cross platform initiatives, and supporting the delivery of regulatory reporting
  • Participating and seeking out opportunities to simplify the platform infrastructure, architecture, services and customer solutions, guarding against introducing new complexity
  • Building relationships with platform, domain and relevant cross-domain stakeholders
  • Making sure that controls are applied and constantly reviewed, primarily against SOX, to ensure full compliance to all our policies and regulatory obligations

Job Role 3: Machine Learning Engineer

The skills you’ll need:

To be successful in this role, you’ll have an academic background in a STEM discipline, like Mathematics, Physics, Engineering or Computer Science. You’ll need experience with machine learning on large datasets and an understanding of machine learning approaches and algorithms.

Alongside this, you’ll have experience of building, testing, supporting and deploying machine learning models into a production environment, using modern CI/CD tools, like TeamCity and CodeDeploy. You’ll also have good communication skills to engage with a wide range of stakeholders.

Furthermore, you’ll need:

  • Experience of using programming and scripting languages, such as Python and Bash
  • An understanding of how to synthesise, translate and visualise data and insights for key stakeholders
  • Financial services knowledge and the ability to identify wider business impacts, risks and opportunities to make connections across key outputs and processes

Job Description & Responsibilities (What you’ll do):

Your daily responsibilities will see you codifying and automating machine learning model production, including pipeline optimisation, tuning and fault finding, as well as transforming data science prototypes and applying appropriate machine learning algorithms and tools.

NatWest Group will need you to deploy and maintain adopted end-to-end solutions, including building metrics to improve system performance and identifying and resolving differences in data distribution which affect model performance. You’ll also maintain knowledge of data science and machine learning.

In addition, you’ll be responsible for:

  • Understanding the needs of our business stakeholders, and how machine learning solutions meet those needs to support the achievement of our business strategy
  • Working with colleagues to produce machine learning models, including pipeline designs, development, testing and deployment to carry on the intent and knowledge into production
  • Creating frameworks to make sure the monitoring of machine learning models within the production environment is robust
  • Delivering models that adhere to expected quality and performance while understanding and addressing any shortfalls, for example through retraining
  • Working in an Agile way within multi-disciplinary data and the analytics teams to achieve agreed project and Scrum outcomes
